Our Mission

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, securing America's future through better education for children, and preserving American history.

While Paul Revere Chapter NSDAR members are from different backgrounds, we are all brought together by our wish to honor our ancestry, our pride in our country, and our willingness to serve our communities.  A large and active chapter, we have a large percentage of Junior Members (members who are 35 or under) and are steadily increasing our new membership.  If you live in the Greater Boston area and believe that one of your ancestors may have served in the Revolutionary War, we encourage you to learn more about our chapter and the exciting things we are doing. And, of course, we would love for you to join us!

Our service pillars are:

Education

We do our part to support education though our committees dedicated to promoting literacy, celebrating student patriotism through essay contests, supporting the DAR schools, and providing scholarships.

Historic Preservation

We preserve history by supporting preservation of local historic buildings and monuments, celebrating commemorative events, and working to preserve genealogical documents. The chapter itself boasts a rich history here in Massachusetts!

Patriotism

We acknowledge and honor patriotism through recognition of community leaders, support of our active military, as well as honoring and serving our veterans, from the American Revolution to the present.
